Things Have Been Tough for a While
You’ve read the popular books. The ones that were supposed to change your life.
You’ve watched videos and podcasts on relationships.
You tried to apply the “simple hacks” to yourself and your relationship.
ChatGPT and Google help sometimes, but they give you the same kind of stereotyped help, every time. You need something more dynamic… more human.
You still feel confused, anxious… and alone.

Married Life Feels Harder Than Ever
You and your partner can’t seem to agree on anything lately. The same arguments keep repeating, and your partnership is in emotional gridlock.
That early spark of chemistry and connection you used to share. Where did it go?
You’re not sure your kids are okay. You know the conflict between you must be affecting them, and you doubt you can hide it from them.
Did it go cold when the kids came along? Or was there something amiss from the very beginning that you didn’t see?
All you know is: The endless “conversations” you’ve had trying to understand each other have come to nothing.
Your Parents Are Getting Older, Too
Watching them decline has been tough.
You always thought you had a good childhood. You thought you came from a “good family” that you’re proud of…
But you couldn’t help but notice last week how your dad casually insulted you. And your mom seems so anxious and immature.
For all that they sacrificed growing up, they seem so self-centered and disinterested in you now.
You thought your relationship, and your kids’ relationship with them, would be different. Even your siblings seem preoccupied with their own lives.

Life Isn’t What You Thought It Would Be
On one hand, life is full and good. You have everything you wanted growing up. You’ve achieved the markers of success…
And yet, some days it feels hard to get out of bed. Or you sit bolt upright in bed one night, having what feels like a mini-panic attack, but you’d never be so dramatic as to tell anyone about it.
What could be wrong that you just can’t fully grasp or understand?
How can you make sense of the anxious dread that follows you around day in and day out?
And even more importantly, what will it take for you to finally feel better?
Hi, I’m Shana.

My journey to becoming a therapist was not straightforward. In fact, it grew out of my own experience as a therapy client.
Which is to say: I have been where you are.
Sitting on my therapist’s couch, week after week, I not only found my own inner healing and transformation but also learned firsthand what separates effective therapists from ineffective ones and why the relationship you have with your therapist makes all the difference.
Long fascinated by human behavior and the power of relationships to influence people at the deepest levels, I went back to graduate school to become a therapist myself.
I soon learned that psychotherapy was a natural fit for my intelligence, curiosity, empathy, and courage.
Fast forward to today, and I feel privileged to have found my calling. I love working with people who inspire me daily with their persistence and commitment to growth and healing.
In addition to my training, my lived experience as an adult daughter, spouse, and parent enhances my ability to understand and relate to the struggles my clients face.
What I Offer

Therapy Can Change Your Life
There’s no shame in finding yourself anxious, unsettled, or emotionally empty, despite outward success. Or, even worse, in a crisis you never thought would happen to you – unemployment, infidelity, addiction, divorce.
Many people who come to see me ask, “How did I get myself here?” or “Is this my fault?”
My answer is always that the things we experience in life are due to factors within, partially within, and outside of our control.
The bad news? We can’t completely prevent bad things from happening to us.
There’s good news, too: We can significantly reduce the chances of unwanted experiences by becoming aware of our own patterns and learning to love and value ourselves, so we show up to life differently.
But then, I have more bad news. All this conditioning takes time to re-program.
However: For those who are willing to invest, therapy can be literally life-changing.
Some people also say, “I need to do whatever is necessary to keep from ending up here again.”
If that’s you, congratulations: you are ready for therapy.
Real therapy is not easy, and it requires risk and courage. Sometimes, you will need to do things that are scary and painful in the short term. In the end, it’ll be worth it.

I am known for my ability to work with complex cases, and I have had success with clients who have had previous unsatisfying experiences in therapy.
If you’re ready to break free from frustrating cycles of despair, overthinking, miscommunication, and emotional gridlock, and start changing your life and relationships for the better, I am at your service.
